Musical Futures Training, your thoughts please

Musical Futures are currently marketing our free training courses starting in January. These take place at schools accross the UK and we are interested in teachers' views on the following: Has rarely cover had an impact on teachers (especially in small departments) getting out on training days? Is a full day of CPD training appropriate for teachers taking on Musical Futures in their schools, or is there a better way to offer support? Would you be more likely to attend a course in a big city such as London, Leeds, Manchester than at a school in a more rural area? In advance, many thanks, your feedback is much appreciated!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes visiting individual schools would be an ideal way to offer support and we are happy to put teachers in contact with our champion schools to arrange reciprocal visits or just to have someone to share ideas with!

Would the best way to offer training not be to attend the school where the teacher is? Yes, I appreciate it would be more expensive, but it would help the trainers get an overview of the school and what they have to work with. This is not always fully understood by trainers, through no fault of their own. You just get a better feel of a school by visiting it. Personally, I do not like travelling far to training events, and prefer a rural location than driving in a crowded city. I always get lost!!!
