KeepVid!

Website which locates YouTube clips and allows free download

This website allows you to legally download streaming videos from sites such as YouTube. It doesn't work on BBC iPlayer and those types of copyright protected sites, but is useful for gathering AV resources nonetheless.

1. Find your clip on the web (such as YouTube)
2. Highlight the URL link in your browser and copy it (Edit>Copy)
3. Go to KeepVid.com and paste the URL link in the white field at the top of the homepage. Click Download.
4. New page opens. Confusingly this doesn't start the downloading process.
5. Under the green section, there are two links, marked low and high quality, choose which quality you need and 'right click' (Mac users: ctrl click) 1 of the 2 download links
6. Choose "Save link as" and save to your hard drive.

The download process should now begin.

If you use Firefox for your Internet Browser, you can install 'add-ons' which increase the functions your browser is capable of.

KeepVid has become a bit temperamental so I have installed 'Download Helper' to Firefox which seems much more reliable.

Link is below. Should direct you to screen on the right.
