Aria

fairly easy orchestral work, was very effectively performed with an improvised Djembe accompaniment

Written for West Somerset Junior Orchestra, this short piece in a modern, but easy listening style has been well received in performance by both players and audiences alike.

In a recent MFY regional the comments read

. Aria......

A very attractive piece played well and with great musicality. The orchestra is well balanced and plays with flair, the effect was quite hypnotic! Well done!

and from other judge,

A strong sense of ensemble from the beginning. This composition suited the group very well. Beautiful lilting melodic theme underpinned by djembe. A good balance throughout the piece with good contrast between the sections. I really enjoyed the whole performance.

Seems a shame to confine it to the cupboard, so here are the score and parts in pdf form.

No need for performing rights or copyright fees, but would appreciate a recording of your own performance should you use it!
