This is the third section of a multi-part resource on Surveying and Accessing the Research Literature on ICT and Music Education: Insights and Inspirations.

Some questions research asks are:

• Do pupils use similar or different composing strategies when they compose using ICT and Music?

• Does prior formal instrumental music tuition effect pupils’ composition strategies using computer-based composition?

• Is composing using computer software creative?

• What does being ‘creative’ mean in the context of ICT and Music Education?

• Can composition using computer-based composition be more inclusive for those with difficulties manipulating traditional instruments?

• Does pupils’ background, attitudes and values affect the way pupils’ approach using digital technologies?

• How does using ICT and Music contribute to pupils’ identities as developing musicians?
